Mystic Odyssey is a free multiplayer .io arena game you play in your browser. You are a glowing spirit: collect essence to grow, absorb smaller rivals, and avoid anyone bigger than you. No download, no sign-up. Play now.

Controls

• Steer: move your mouse or use WASD/arrow keys. On touch screens, drag anywhere.
• Boost: hold click, Space, or the ⚡ button to sprint. Boosting burns essence.
• Pause: press Esc. Your spirit stays in the world, and can still be absorbed, while the menu is open.

How to grow

• Essence orbs: glide over the glowing dots scattered across the realm.
• Absorb rivals: a spirit about 20% bigger than you can absorb you, and you can do the same once you outgrow them.
• Cut ribbons: cross a rival's trailing ribbon to sever it. The spilled essence is free for anyone nearby.
• Wisps: small fleeing spirits worth a burst of essence. Gilded Wisps, found in the Ruins, are rarer and richer.

Astral Shrines

• Shrine of Division: tears essence from spirits massive enough to trigger it and scatters it as a public feast. Smaller spirits pass safely beneath it.
• Shrine of Silence: hides every name nearby (yours too) and pauses decay and boost inside its hush.
• Shrine of Transmutation: feed it essence while boosting past it; it repays a boon shaped by your last few deeds.

Dangers

• Decay: essence slowly fades over time, so you can't just park in first place.
• The Ancient Guardian: haunts the Ruins. Too small and it wounds you; big enough and slaying it bursts a trove of essence.
• Dissolving: get absorbed by a bigger rival and your spirit dissolves, but you rise again and start growing right away.
